Castelejo - Hommage à Vitor Hugo

from Bohemia After Dawn by Bahama Soul Club

/

about

‘Castelejo’, probably one of the most amazing beaches in the world. A stunning spot at South-Western Algarve and to me always brings back memories of the late Vitor Hugo, a dear friend and unique Portuguese artist who's gone quite too soon. Vitor was famous for creating and playing the Cana Rachada, a selfmade instrument, made from bamboo sticks, sounding bit like a Guiro. A few rare samples of him were used in the song - which probably is not typical for the BSC, but dear to our hearts a perfect ultimate track - especially for this album.
Love and thanks to the participating artists from the local neighborhood for playing and singing and breathing grandeur into the music. Rui Correia on accordeon and vocals by Josephine Nightingale, Cutty Wren and Hedvig Larsson. What a blessing!

So let's walk a little way again, man. Some friends are with us.
